Hakko FR-810B/FR810B Hot Air Rework Station
The HAKKO FR-810B Hot Air Rework Station sets a new bar for convective rework. The new, compact and lightweight design (only 3.3 lb.) features a quiet, self-contained turbine air supply, capable of delivering up to 115 L/min.. The new heating element design improves durability, provides a top end temperature of 600°C and eliminates the quartz glass insulator tube. The FR-810B includes an integrated vacuum pickup system that includes a visual indicator for reflow, allowing the operator to visually see when the component has completely reflowed and is safely lifted from the PCB. This special feature allows the operator to lift the handpiece without fear of damaging the pads or leads. Additionally, new N51 Series quick-change hot air nozzles for SMT components that are specifically designed for use with the new vacuum pickup system are also available. Semitec Current Regulator Diode
Semitec have a good range of Current Regulator Diodes and have recently added a 22 mA CRD (S-223T) to accommodate high luminance LEDs. This eliminates the need to use two CRDs with high luminance LEDs, the 22 mA CRD (S-223T) alone is all that's needed.
Current regulative diodes ("CRDs") are diodes that, as the name implies, keep the value of electrical currents steady even if the voltage changes. For a wide range of voltage values from 1V up to 100V Semitec CRDs can steady a current at a fixed value. With Semitec CRDs voltage changes, load resistance changes and ripple voltage effects don't change the fixed current value. Normally, creating a current stabilizing circuit is complicated and requires complicated parts. With Semitec CRDs you only need one simple part for the same result. Murata Water Repellant Ceramic Capacitors
Murata have developed a new range of ceramic capacitors with a water repellant coating to minimise ion migration resulting from condensation on the PCB. The GXM series is treated with a water-repellant treatment film so that moisture forms into scattered droplets, rather than larger droplets. These droplets are suppressed to a size that is not big enough to span the gap between the external electrodes, this prevents ion migration.
Size range of 1.0x0.5mm - 3.2x2.5mm. Voltage range 2.5Vdc - 100Vdc. Capacitance range 0.10pF - 220µF. You can see the range here Murata GXM Series or download a copy of the full presentation.

Hakko FR-300 Portable Desolder Gun
Hakko have released a new portable desolder gun to update their existing 808 model. The new FR-300 is smaller, lighter and cheaper than the previous model.The FR-300 includes a new pump system that generates superior suction flow, with better balance to reduce vibration during use. A closed-loop sensor feedback system provides improved temperature recovery and control, with a ceramic heating element (80w) and a temperature range of 350°C - 500°C.

Murata Micro DC-DC Converters
Murata Electronics have a new micro DC-DC converter series that utilises a unique ferrite substrate to embed the power inductor. By combining a number of Murata's proprietary materials and technical capabilities, Murata developed a product line that delivers ultra-compact size and EMI noise suppression.The LXDC2UR and LXDC3EP series are believed to be the world's smallest DC-DC converters (at 600mA and 1A current ratings, respectively) that also incorporate the I/O capacitors onto the same package.
A key feature of the LXDC line is the embedding of the power inductor within the actual ferrite substrate. By utilising this structure, the IC can be mounted directly above the power inductor coil with almost no pattern length to diminish leakage radiation noise. The I/O connections are routed through this same ferrite substrate to create a function similar to ferrite beads that significantly reduces conductive noise. Board space is greatly decreased when using this product over other discrete surface mount designs.

Samples are available for the solder wires.SN100C is a silver-free, eutectic lead-free solder, based on Sn99.3Cu0.7 and conforms analogous to ISO 9453:2006 (alloy number 401) with micro-alloyed additives (<500ppm). The SN100C has been developed and patented by NIHON Superior, licenced and produced by STANNOL.

- SN100Ce is the copper-free version of the micro-allying solder. This re-fill solder can be used, if the copper content in used solder baths is too high and needs to be reduced to the accepted level of 0.5-0.9%

The GCBC Series is a current sensor for PCB mounting and is the smallest and lightest in the industry. The use of a proprietary high-sensitivity magnetic sensor element eliminates the need for a core to concentrate magnetic flux, enabling compact dimensions and weight. Proprietary magnetic control plates positioned around the sensor element ensure both high sensitivity and resistance to outside disturbance.
Resistance in the primary conductor is also the industry’s lowest at 60μΩ, a 40% reduction compared to existing current sensors of other companies. This reduces conductor heat generation, helping to lower power loss associated with current measurement.

Murata Polymer Capacitors
Murata's Polymer Capacitor series ECAS features low ESR, low impedance, and wide capacitance range of 6.8uF to 470uF. The case size is similar to that of Tantalum Capacitors (7.3x4.3mm) and is the same case size across the range which makes Polymer Capacitors a good replacement for Tantalum capacitors, only the height varies so values can easily be changed as the footprint is the same. There is also no DC bias characteristic of the capacitance and since temperature characteristics are also stable, it excels in Ripple absorption, smoothness, and transient response performance. Polymer Capacitors will also not dry out like Aluminium Capacitors.
